Garry 
obtained a B.A.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the University of British Columbia in
1979, and has supplemented his degree with other courses at BCIT and UBC, including
the Certified Professional Program. He has developed and taught a course on
cold–formed steel at BCIT as part of their Civil Engineering Technology
part–time studies program. Garry has designed a large variety of buildings
in Vancouver, including large concrete high–rise office buildings such as the
Bentall IV and CIBC Bank Tower. He is also a recognized expert in structural steel
design, having consulted to many structural engineer practitioners in Vancouver.
He is the author of the open web steel joist software used by a leading
manufacturer in Vancouver. Garry continues to provide maintenance and support for
the software that has automated structural design and drafting facilities.
